What we build

A boundary fence has one job. A front fence has three — it has to look right from the street, work with the gate every day, and stay legal. Height rules are tighter at the front: over 1.5m within 3m of the street generally needs a report and consent, and corners have their own rule.

Tell us about the frontage and we'll come and measure. You get one written price covering the fence, the gate, the hardware and the automation if you want it — before anything is ordered.

Why no prices here when the rest of this site is covered in them? Because a gate price depends on hardware, width, automation and the slope of your driveway, and a published number we can't build to would make us every other fencing website. When we've priced enough of them to publish an honest rate, it'll be on this page.

Questions we get asked

How high can my front fence be?
Generally 1.5m within 3m of the street alignment before a report and consent is needed, and 1m within 9m of a corner intersection. Your council is the final word — we check it as part of the quote.
Can you automate my existing gate?
Usually, if the gate and posts are square and sound. We'll tell you straight if they're not — putting a motor on a sagging gate is buying the same problem twice.
Does my neighbour pay half of a front fence?
No — the half-cost rules under the Fences Act apply to dividing fences between properties, not the fence between you and the street. The front fence is yours alone, which is also why it's worth doing properly.
Why is this quoted on inspection when your boundary fences have published prices?
Because we publish numbers we can build to. Boundary fencing is repeatable; front fences and gates aren't. One visit, one written number, before anything is ordered.
